Cobourg

Cobourg is a delightful town located on the shore of Lake Ontario, with many charming features most notable of which is a large public beach and marina. This is one of the only free public beaches on the lake and attracts thousands of people during the summer.

The main street (King Street – old Highway 2) has been lovingly restored and the centrepiece is old Victoria Hall, which contains a Concert Hall, the Art Gallery of Northumberland, and many other interesting historical features.

The town has lovely old neighbourhoods mixed with more modern suburban residential areas.

Being a slightly larger town than Port Hope, shopping is very good and ranges from small boutiques to larger “big-box” style stores.

Only a 10-minute drive away from Port Hope means that all the restaurants and theatre is easily accessible to residents in both towns.
