THEATRES

I don’t know what to say about the richness of choice we have access to here. It’s almost overwhelming. Just take a look at some of the choices available. There aren’t many places in this province that can boast of this selection.

The Capitol Theatre

A full professional theatre in Port Hope, the Capitol is able to provide patrons with live theatre, direct satellite feed opera from the Met, direct satellite live theatre from the National Theatre in the UK, film, concerts, cabarets and lectures within it’s main theatre and smaller Sculthorpe theatre. The theatre has played host to some of the prominent talent in Canada with productions from companies such as Soulpepper, Tafelmusik, and the Orford Quartet. One of only two “Atmospheric” theatres in Canada, The Capitol is an historical treasure. Drop by and one of the staff will give you a tour and explain what “Atmospheric” means. A beautiful and valuable asset to the region operating all year round.
